TurboGrafx 16 Mini... Hold up, WHAT!?

THIS ARTICLE by CHE approx. 3 minutes read KONAMI has announced the upcoming release of the TurboGrafx 16 Mini . The micro-console will sport original look and feel of the 1989 version. It will also support two USB TurboGrafx controllers and five-way multiplayer via an adapter. It will also have built-in games, similar to other mini consoles in the market. SEGA Genesis mini

THIS ARTICLE by CHE approx. 5 minutes read SEGA is bringing new waves of nostalgia with the return of the SEGA Genesis , this time in the form of an emulator micro-console. With all the already great mini consoles in the market (e.g. NES Classic, SNES mini), this is a much-welcomed addition. The SEGA Genesis mini will sport a retro high-quality construction of the Model 1. The U.S. version will include a USB replica of the original three button controller. The Japanese version is reportedly going to have the six button version. It will also have HDMI output and preloaded with 42 classic hits that can be saved at any point of the game. As a kid I would run downstairs to the pizza shop to tippy-toe over a Super Mario Bros . arcade machine. I had no quarters in my pockets, but the pizza shop owner always made sure I did. There was a centipede game and some other shooter as well. It was my first exposure to arcades and it left a lasting impression. As I got older, arcade machines seemed to popup in every corner of the earth, inside laundromats, deli, and movie theaters. There were even dedicated arcade places. Here players would huddle around Street Fighter II , Golden Axe , and X-Men Arcade games to name a few. It is during these times that arcade set the gold standard of what a video game should be.
